Hello, blogging community! This is my first attempt at a blog, so go easy on me, at least at first. I made a promise to my junior high best friend that I would do this if she joined Facebook, and a promise is a promise. So, anyway, I am going to be using this blog to chronicle my family's daily life. I'll start from the top. My name is Dara. I grew up in Nebraska, went to school in Nebraska, and started working as a RN in Nebraska. In 2004, I married my better half, Joe Buckendahl. In 2005, we moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. We bought a house, and then bought a dog in 2007. Apollo is a 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog - the coolest breed of dog on the planet as far as I'm concerned. This year, we added to our family once more when our daughter, Eleanor, was born in February. She is now 5 1/2 months old and already trying to grow up to fast. She rolls around on the floor (on a blanket!) and has already taught herself how to turn on the Playstation and eject Dad's games. She has started solid foods, mostly sweet potatoes and squash. I'm beginning to think that she's going to like anything we put in front of her. And Apollo has gladly accepted the position of clean-up crew, enough said on that subject. Gross, I know, but it comes in handy when there is no burp rag in sight. And so with all of that said, you are all up to speed on the Buckendahl's. I will, of course, post pictures and exciting events. But right now, I am going to go for a walk with my two favorite people (alright, one's really just a dog who thinks he's a person), and then settle in for the night watching X Games 15 and eating a frozen pizza. More on us later!
